About Glenthorne High School
"Achievement for All" is our motto and guiding principle. We have established an achievement culture in which every single pupil is encouraged to succeed. We aim to develop each individual 19s talent and release each individual 19s unique potential. We are an inclusive school and strive to meet the needs of all pupils across the ability spectrum.
We offer:
Acceleration, extension and enrichment to challenge our many More Able, Gifted & Talented (MAG&T) pupils
Early morning enrichment classes in Science, Modern Languages, Music, Drama and Dance
Excellent support and intervention for pupils with Special Educational Needs including an intensive reading programme, spelling and handwriting clubs, homework support, speech and language classes and in-class support. Our SEN base provides an environment where ASD and SEN pupils can thrive.
In February 2011, we were awarded the Challenge Award. The assessors described the school as "exceptional" and providing "outstanding provision for its most able pupils".
We encourage our pupils never to settle for second best; we 19ve had pupils at the school who have gone to the best universities, including Russell Group universities and Oxford and Cambridge, those who 19ve appeared on the West End stage and elite sportsmen and women competing at the highest level.
